Sleeping position can influence the shape of the body. If an improper sleeping position then it could worsen your posture. But there are certain sleeping positions that can be done to improve posture. Sleeping or lying in a position that weakens the muscles and ligaments, can stretch the lower back that made bad posture so that exacerbate back problems and pain. Sure arch the lumbar region (small section on the pelvis or hip bone) or called the lumbar lordosis helps provide strength to the vertebral column. Sleeping position in support of this parallel curvature and head to the spine and pelvic bones can strengthen back muscles and ligaments to improve posture.

Here is the sleeping position that can be done to improve posture, namely:

  1. The position of the head position of the head while sleeping position affects the entire body and increase the pressure on the spine and back muscles. Put a pillow under the head and neck than the shoulder, then use a pillow that is strong enough to support the head and parallel to the spine. Using a pillow that is too thick or software can cause neck and back pain as well as make bad posture.
  2. The position of the knee and back Sleeping with your back arched form letter “C ” can stretch the ligaments of the spine and hip muscles to weaken. This is exacerbated when sitting and standing postures. For that reduce the arch with slightly arching the lower back when sleeping sideways to be able to help strengthen the muscles behind your back and shoulder muscles to prevent bending. Avoid approaching the knee chest position by placing a pillow or bolster between your knees to align the pelvis, spine and head.
  3. Provide support for the curve of the body that causes the mattress is too soft body sagging in the middle and do not provide enough support to maintain the correct body position during sleep. If the mattress is held is not strong enough then uses a special board to provide more support on the back. But do not also use a mattress that is too harsh because it does not support the natural curvature of the body. Select a mattress that can be useful in normal pressure points while still providing good support body.
